Energy Industry The major enterprises for coal exploitation and deep processing such as Xinwen Mining Industry Group and Feicheng Mining Industry Group can produce more than 26 million tons of raw coal every year. As an electricity power enterprise of fire power, Shandong Shiheng Power Plant owns the annual generation of 10 billion KWH. The installed capacity of power plant under construction is 1.2 million kilowatts, in which the key construction item—Tai’an Hydroenergy Storage Station with the investment about 5 billion yuan plans to generate electricity by way of merging two or more grid systems in 2005. Tai’an has first-class power supply capacity and facility, and liberal electricity supply, which is the most safe and reliable regional electric wire netting in the whole country.

Mechanical and Electrical Industry At present, there are over 100 large-scale enterprises (It means the annual sales income is over 5 million yuan.) in Tai’an, such as Luneng Tai Appliances & Electric Cable Co., Ltd, Shandong Taikai Electronics Co., Ltd, China Heavy-duty Automobile Group Tai’an Wuyue Special-purpose Automobile Co., Ltd, Tai’an Spaceflight Special-purpose Vehicle Co., Ltd, Tai’an Crane Machinery Factory, Tai’an Engineering Machinery General Plant, Tai Group, Shandong Juling Group, Tai’an Huatai Aluminium Wheel-hub Co., Ltd and Shandong Houfeng Automobile Radiator Co., Ltd. Among them, there are 9 provincial-level high-tech enterprises. The overall engineering levels of the leading products such as electric cable, high-pressure switch, special-purpose vehicle, automobile crane, single cylinder diesel engine are ranking a leading place in the whole country. And part products have reached the international advanced level, having higher brand awareness and occupation rate of market in our country.

Chemical Industry More than 50 large-scale enterprises (It means the annual sales income is over 5 million yuan.) in Tai’an as Shandong Huayang Technology Co., Ltd, Feicheng Aside Chemical Co., Ltd, Shandong Haihua Kuixing Chemical Co., Ltd, Shandong Ruixing Chemical Industry Group, Shandong Feida Chemical Science & Technology Co., Ltd and Jiuxin Daily Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. Among them, there are 4 national-level high-tech enterprises, 5 provincial-level high-tech enterprises and 1 domestic listed company. The main products such as formic acid, melamine, carbamates, cellulose ether, 3,3”-DCB, dianisidine and tetrachlorobenzidine cellulose ether, urea, and cosmetics have a higher occupation rate of market. Among them, the output of formic acid occupies the first place in Asia.

Building Materials Industry In the whole city, there are over 70 large-scale enterprises (It means the annual sales income is over 5 million yuan.), including 2 national-level high-tech enterprises and 2 provincial-level high-tech enterprises. Tai Glass Fiber Co., Ltd (one of the World Top 10) can produce alkali-free glass fiber and its products of more than 100,000 tons per year. As the biggest enterprise in China for producing paper gypsum board, Shandong Taihe Dongxin Co., Ltd has the annual output of paper gypsum board of 100 million square meters, covering 40% of the domestic market. And the annual output of cement in the whole city is 10 million tons.

Textile Industry Over 30 large-scale enterprises (It means the annual sales income is over 5 million yuan.) in our city such as Shandong Daiyin Textile Garment Group, Shandong Aoshi (Group) Co., Ltd, Shandong Taipeng Group, Shandong Pingyang Textile Co., Ltd, Tai’an Tailong Cotton Spinning Knitting Co., Ltd, Tai’an Companion Woolen Textile Co., Ltd and Dongping Zhou Jitai Flax Textile Co., Ltd have complete categories of cotton spinning, wool spinning, bast fiber spinning, silk spinning, knitting and clothing, which can produce 80,000 tons of yarn, 100 million meters of cloth, and more than 2.3 million meters of woollen goods every year.

Bioengineering and Medicine Industry There are 37 bioengineering and medicine enterprises in our city, such as Shandong Missile Biological Products Co., Ltd, Shandong Bolylely Bioengineering Co., Ltd, Shandong Zhongsheng Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd and Shandong Siwei Pharmacy Co., Ltd. Among them, there are 6 provincial-level high-tech enterprises with more than 100 kinds of products. The leading products include biological fodder, additive, cellulose, embryo-transformation biotechnology products and blood biologicals, enjoying certain reputation at home.

 Metallurgical Industry The major enterprises as Shandong Shiheng Special-steel Co., Ltd, Shandong Shangang Group and Tai’an Tai Aluminium Electric Co., Ltd can produce all kinds of line material, panel and pipe nearly 2 million tons and 70,000 tons of electrolytic aluminium every year.

Agriculture Tai’an is one of the developed areas of the agriculture from ancient times. Various ground form, soil condition, suitable climate and abundant living resources have offered wide space for agricultural development of Tai’an. Tai’an is the national important production base of grain, oil, fruits, vegetables, beasts and birds, organic food, pollution-free food and environment-friendly agricultural products. The cultivated area of the whole city is 320,000 hectares with the annual output of grain 2.1million tons, oil 190,000 tons, fruits of 330,000 tons, vegetables of 7.5 million tons, meat of 400,000 tons, and dairy products of 100,000 tons. More than 30 kinds of brand-name and high-quality local products, such as Chinese chestnut, walnut, daughter’s tea, red glossy ganoderma, tuber of multi-flower knotweed, red scale fish, Buddha’s peach, big date, hair crab of Dongping Lake, ox of western Shandong and cold sheep of little tail have won fame both at home and abroad. More than 10 counties and townships have been named “Characteristic Counties and Townships” by the country and relevant international organizations. More than 30 kinds of organic vegetables products have obtained multiple domestic and international authentications, such as OFDC, OCIA, JONA, RSA、BCS、JAS and KSA. The area of production base is up to 8,400 hectares, the area of authentication, area of base and output occupy leading position domestically. 11 larger enterprises specialize in the processing and export of organic agricultural products. 8 green agricultural products of the whole city have obtained the authentication of China Pollution-free Food Development Centre, with the base area of 13,700 hectares; 72 environment-friendly agricultural products have won national-level authentication, with the base area of 84,000 hectares.
